Bullitt County Health Dept. leader named to NACCHO Board of Directors | News

SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Swannie Jett, Director of Bullitt County Health Department, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and will formally assume those duties July 2011 at the Association’s annual meeting in Hartford, Connecticut.
Mr. Jett provides public health leadership to address Bullitt County’s health needs and offers health policy leadership on the national level.
“It is an honor and privilege to be part of this important organization that provides public health leadership across the country,” said Jett “NACCHO is a vital link for policy makers on the federal level to those of us who are working to protect and improve the health of our local jurisdictions. NACCHO also provides local health officials a forum to share best practices and tools for improving delivery of service in our communities.”
Mr. Jett has over 15 years of experience in public health. In February 2011, Jett was selected to attend the National Public Health Leadership Institute.
Currently, Jett serves as a Board member for West Jefferson County Community Task Force, 2NOT1 Fatherhood and Families Organization, and is the current President of the National Association of Health Service Executives-Kentucky Chapter. In addition to Mr. Jett’s community involvement, he is a Captain in the Air Force National Guard, is a graduate from Tennessee State University with a BS in Agricultural Statistics, and holds a MS degree from the University of Tennessee in Bio-Systems Engineering Technology.
